JAMIL KASSEM-LOPEZ
HEY!
I’m Jamil (he/him)! I’m a musical theatre performer based in NYC. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University at Buffalo with a BFA in Musical Theatre. I’m an island guy originally from Puerto Rico, but spent most of my childhood and early adult life in Buffalo, NY (GO BILLS)!
I had a late introduction to theatre in high school when I did my first ever musical…The Drowsy Chaperone. If you’re reading this, you can probably tell I was hooked. Since then I have spent several years performing both regionally and internationally in a broad spectrum of productions.
If I’m not on a stage you’ll likely find me reading, taking photos of random things, at the gym, or annoying my loved ones (my gollum voice works really well). Thanks for stopping by. Take a look and let's make something happen!

NEWS
I was most recently in Japan and East Asia singing my little heart out to a plethora of musical styles. Up next you can catch me in Australia, New Zealand, French Poly, and Hawaii…travel while you’re young right?

I understudied Magaldi in Evita at The REV Theatre Co. Check out some photos from the production in my gallery!
I also played The Hermit in a staged concert of Young Frankenstein at Starring Buffalo starring AJ Shively, Brandon Espinosa, and Lindsay Nicole Chambers. It was 3 day rehearsal process and an absolute blast! Click here to see performance footage!

I recently played Roger in a staged concert of Grease at Starring Buffalo starring Danny Quadrino, Caitlin Houlihan, and Morgan Siobhan Green. Click here to see performance footage!
